Amazon FBA Fee & Profit Calculator
Subtract Amazon fees, storage, and ad cost to see what you really earn on every unit sold.
How the Amazon FBA Profit Calculator Works
Amazon takes several cuts from every FBA sale: a referral fee based on your price, a fulfillment fee based on size and weight, and storage fees while your stock sits in a fulfillment center. Add advertising on top and the margin that looked comfortable on paper can shrink to almost nothing.
Enter your selling price, your cost per unit, and each Amazon fee. The tool adds the fees together, subtracts them and your ad cost from the price, and shows your net profit, net margin, and return on investment. It also shows the break-even price, the lowest price at which you stop losing money on a unit. The result card turns red for a loss, blue for a margin under 10%, and green for 10% or more.
Key Formulas Behind This Tool
- Referral Fee: Selling Price x Referral Fee %
- Total Amazon Fees: Referral Fee + FBA Fulfillment Fee + Monthly Storage Cost per Unit
- Net Profit per Unit: Selling Price - Unit Cost - Total Amazon Fees - Ad Cost per Sale
- Net Profit Margin (%): (Net Profit / Selling Price) x 100
- ROI (%): (Net Profit / (Unit Cost + Ad Cost per Sale)) x 100
- Break-Even Price: (Unit Cost + FBA Fee + Storage + Ad Cost) / (1 - Referral Fee %)
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What fees does the Amazon FBA calculator include?
It includes the referral fee (a percentage of the selling price), the FBA fulfillment fee per unit, your monthly storage cost per unit, and your advertising cost per sale. Enter any other per-unit cost, such as inbound shipping or prep, as part of your unit cost.
What is a typical Amazon referral fee?
Most categories charge between about 8% and 15% of the selling price, and some categories have tiers or minimum fees. The calculator starts at 15%. Check your category in Seller Central and enter your exact rate.
How do I find my FBA fulfillment fee?
The fee depends on the size tier and shipping weight of your product, and Amazon updates its rates from time to time. Use the fee shown for your item in the Amazon revenue calculator or fee schedule in Seller Central.
How is ROI calculated here?
ROI is net profit divided by the cash you put into one unit, which this tool defines as unit cost plus ad cost per sale. An ROI of 50% means you earn 50 cents of profit for every dollar invested in that unit.
What is a good FBA profit margin?
Many sellers look for a net margin of at least 15% to 20% after ads, and an ROI above 30% to 50%. Slow-selling or heavy products need a bigger cushion because storage and long-term storage fees grow over time.
